Gravel grind along the HCRT towards Corryong. Long and scenic climb, the descent is largely unmarked but is good double track through farmland down to the Murray Valley Hwy. Sealed riding to Khancoban, note the out and back to a farm gate that isn't passable. Stay on the B road for direct route.

Short roll to the Geehi walls trail. Steep pinches and great views. Cross swampy plain with views of Koszciosco then onto the Alpine way for the long climb to dead horse gap. Good lunch stop about halfway up at Leatherbarrel creek. From just beyong the gap is the top of Cascades track, flowing and slight chunky double track rolling descent.

From Tin Mine huts head southwest on the Ingeegoodbee trail, an old stock route cut from a much older walking passage used by First Nations people. Double track with steep pinches, the last 3k down to the Barry way is very steep and loose, a hardtail with large volume tyres and good bike handling required to ride. Gravel grind on Barry way up to the plateau, through farmland and onto sealed road into Buchan.

Heading southwest out of Buchan on the forest roads, linking to the East gippsland rail trail for the final ~45km into Bairnsdale.
